How to Adopt
At Next Chance Rescue, our aim is to secure forever homes for the animals under our care, ensuring they receive love and safety. We understand that finding the ideal companion can be challenging and time-consuming. Therefore, our adoption procedure is crafted to assist you in discovering the ideal match.
FIVE STEPS TO ADOPTION
APPLICATION
Please complete and submit the application form. Our adoption team will carefully review your application within 72 hours. Since our animals are currently in foster homes, meet-and-greets will only be arranged after an applicant has been approved.
PHONE INTERVIEW
We'll arrange a time for a phone call to discuss your application, address any additional questions we may have, and answer any inquiries you have regarding the animal or the adoption process. Please anticipate the call to last approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
HOME VISIT
A member of our adoption team will reach out to you to schedule a home visit. The purpose of this visit is to meet other family members and assess the home environment to ensure the safety and well-being of our animals.
MEET YOUR PET
Upon approval, we'll coordinate a meet-and-greet session. If the meeting goes well, you're welcome to bring your new four-legged friend home. We kindly ask that all family members and existing animals be present during this exciting occasion.
FOSTER TO ADOPT
Understanding that welcoming a new pet into your home is a significant commitment, we mandate a two-week adjustment period to allow both you and your new companion to get acquainted. During this time, we withhold finalizing the adoption and payment of the adoption fee. This grace period not only ensures a smoother transition but also enables us to extend the same opportunity to the next animal in need, giving them a chance at finding their forever home.

WHY FEES?
Next Chance Rescue operates as a nonprofit organization, driven by a dedicated team of volunteers. Our funding is entirely reliant on donations, event proceeds, and processing fees. Every cent we raise is allocated directly to the animals we rescue, covering essential expenses such as vet bills, medication, transportation, and other necessities. It's important to note that we do not generate profits from our adoption fees. On average, the basic veterinary care we provide typically costs around three times more than what we charge in adoption fees. Your support enables us to continue our mission of providing care and support to animals in need.
